A friend sent me the link to the video below which pokes fun at the reasons behind the current global financial crisis.
Now, in yesterday's blog I mentioned that I wanted to be promoting those doing "good work" for others, humanity and the planet versus profiling situations which are not going so well. I take comedy such as this to be "good work" because it helps people understand more about what's going on, what things mean or don't mean, and it gets people talking about our world. Humour is great to get the conversation started. Then it's up to us to see where we take it.
Here's the video:
The video was filmed last year before things got really bad but we all had an idea that they were about to get worse.
It may be difficult to find humour in such dire things today, and that's a great opportunity to take up. If we don't remember to laugh, things will only get more difficult. And if we can use humour to help people understand more about their choices, options and what's happening around them, then that's good too.
Coaching Exercises
1. How do you feel about the current economic crisis on the planet? (Yes, a vague and open question on purpose simply to see where you take it.)
2. How has this situation changed your process regarding making decisions, if at all? (Yes, this is vague on purpose too. If you see this as about how you make financial choices, fine. If political choices, fine. if some other choice, fine.)
3. What is the good in this current situation? In what form do you think the good, or further good, will come in the future?
4. As a result of these questions and your considered responses to them, what are you committing to?
As always, if you need any further personal support in response to any of these coaching exercises, please consider using the askacoach.com service.
All the best,
Noel
