A friend of mine just told me about a great project that fits into my goal of promoting "good works" for the next 100 days.
It's called the Inaka Project.
This book has been in the making for 10 years and explores the connections between the adult we become and the child we once were. It's a great story that's beautifully illustrated and includes a CD narration and features music from all over the world.
The author is Gerard Brindley and in is true "Gallant Ged" (nickname) style, 10% of all the profits are donated to support the building of the La Esperanza kindergarten, elementary and high schools in Colonia La Esperanza, Tijuana. This will be the first high school ever built in an area where more than 180,000 people live.
So, please check out the Inaka Project website and consider buying the book if you can or send gift copies to people you care about. Please spread the word to help support a worthy cause and an incredible person's passion to help others.
Coaching Exercises
1. What are your thoughts about how your childhood has formed the adult you are today? Yes, this is a broad and open question on purpose. You may wish to jot down some notes in a journal and work on this question for a while.
2. What impact do you currently have on the lives of children in terms of how they may form into adults?
3. What impact would you like to have on children in terms of how they may form into adults?
4. As a result of these questions and your personal exploration and answers, what are you committing to?
As always, if you need any further personal support in response to any of these coaching exercises, please consider using the askacoach.com service.
All the best,
Noel
