Today is World AIDS Day (1st December 2008) and there are many ways in which people are doing "good work" to raise awareness and combat this killer that affects people all over the globe.
This year I am highlighting the good works of a group called Red, named after the colour of the awareness ribbon worn for AIDS and HIV awareness.
Check out their website here.
There are hundreds of partners who have offered products and services rebranded with the colour red and where proceeds from those sales goes to further raising awareness of AIDS.
It's wonderful that this website and organisation is around and that part of their good work is to get other organisations involved in ways that help consumers and every day people want to get more involved.
Working collaboratively in this fashion, it increases the contribution we're making.
Excellent stuff.
Coaching Exercises
1. How aware would you say you are today about HIV and AIDS? It's been around for decades now, but that doesn't mean everyone understands what's currently happening around the world.
2. How important do you feel it is to be aware of such things? What benefits would there be to you, and to others, if you were to increase your awareness?
3. What could YOU do to help further raise awareness about this cause? Or if there's another cause that you're more connected to, what could YOU do to further raise awareness about it?
4. As a result of these questions and your personal exploration and answers, what are you committing to?
As always, if you need any further personal support in response to any of these coaching exercises, please consider using the askacoach.com service.
All the best,
Noel
