There's a brand new book out and it's already one of my all time favourites - Wisdom by Andrew Zuckerman
Check it out here.
Andrew is an award winning photographer who travelled to seven countries, flew over 100,000kms and drove 8000kms, all in a quest to ask 50 distinguished individuals aged 65 or older what they would like others to know. There is amazing wisdom in this book and I consider the project to be a wonderful example of "good works".
Coaching Exercises
1. Although wisdom is not something you can only get from those who've lived longer than us, it does stand to reason that those who have been on the planet for some time will have had the opportunity to have more experiences and therefore the potential for some incredible learning and wisdom as a result. Who do you know in your life who's been around a bit, and might just have an interesting story or insight (or two or a hundred) to share?
2. How often, and how well, do you dedicate the time to ask and listen about the stories and wisdom of others?
3. What could you do, and how well could you do it, to either start or do more/differently in terms of seeking out the stories and wisdom of others?
4. As a result of these questions and your personal exploration and answers, what are you committing to?
As always, if you need any further personal support in response to any of these coaching exercises, please consider using the askacoach.com service.
All the best,
Noel
