Thank you to everyone who responded to my request for for feedback on the askacoach.com newsletter. This blog entry is to publish what I've learned as a result of the feedback and what I'm going to do with those lessons.

Thank you for your feedback!
So in addition to the personal email response directly to you, I’m including this summary of what I’ve learned.
It’ll certainly save time writing back to over one hundred people.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
- People want more quality free information such as articles, resources, etc.
- People are enjoying the blog
- People want the events calendar to stay
- Although people do want workshops, teleclasses, ebooks etc, many have identified they just don’t have a budget for this development this year
- More people want information about how to get clients and once they have them then they’ll ask for more about coaching tools to help them
- People like just having the commercials links at the bottom of the email
- Quite a few people would prefer more audio/video products instead of reading
- Many people feel the newsletter is too long (I agree!)
I’ve also realised that I spent between 10 and 15 hours a week “giving” free information including articles, resources, phone conversations to new coaches etc. As much as I love giving, I have to be wiser about how I’m doing it.
Here’s what I’m going to do next:
- Newsletters will have a short article or message (like I used to do)
- Newsletters will keep the blog entries and events calendars
- Newsletters will have commercial links at the bottom of the email
- They’ll still go out weekly as if they move to two weeks or longer, then the email itself becomes too long and it doesn’t help as much with promoting calendar events in a timely manner.
- If people want assistance from me on a particular topic, it is now unlikely to end up as a product, teleclass or event because the market isn’t there for it. So these requests will need to be about engaging me for a one on one session. This means the main product/service I’m promoting is direct coaching, mentoring and/or training with me.
- Occasionally, I’ll still need to promote another product or service and I’ll need to look at different ways of doing that. This will be managed on a case by case basis.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, suggestions, challenges and solutions with me.
Please do let me know if there’s anything I can do to support you and your objectives.

Coaching Exercises
1. For your business, when was the last time (if ever) that you may have reached out to your customers and asked them what they want? What did you learn from it? What did you do with what you learnt?
2. What would be the benefit for you to do that now, for you and for them?
3. What would be options as to how you could reach out and ask for their feedback?
4. As a result of these questions and your personal exploration and answers, what are you committing to?
As always, if you need any further personal support in response to any of these coaching exercises, please consider using the askacoach.com service.
All the best,
Noel
